Module 5 – Leading Through Change and Challenge
Leadership by Design – Track 1
Learning Objectives
- Understand the biblical pattern for leading through seasons of change.
- Identify emotional and spiritual responses to leadership pressure.
- Develop strategies for maintaining stability during transition.
- Learn how to shepherd people with compassion during difficult seasons.
Teaching Content
Change is a natural part of spiritual leadership. Every biblical leader faced transition—Moses to Joshua, Elijah to Elisha, and Paul to Timothy.
“Be strong and courageous...” — Joshua 1:6–9
Leaders set the emotional temperature for those they lead. A steady leader creates stability. A reactive leader creates confusion.
Challenges reveal character. Pressure reveals what preparation has placed inside the leader. God uses seasons of difficulty to strengthen faith, deepen humility, and refine purpose.
Scripture Integration
- Joshua 1:6–9 – Courage and obedience during transition.
- Isaiah 43:18–19 – God doing a new thing.
- 2 Corinthians 4:7–10 – Treasure in jars of clay.
- James 1:2–4 – Growth through trials.
Reflection & Discussion Prompts
- What current challenge is stretching your leadership the most?
- How would your team describe your emotional presence under pressure?
- What transition is God inviting you to embrace instead of resist?
“Challenge exposes character—and strengthens leadership.”
Mentor’s Insight: Write a short “Leadership Stability Statement” describing how you want to show up during seasons of pressure. Keep it visible this week.
